I wouldnāt have minded a more grounded depressed Dante. Possibly distancing himself as much as possible from his identity after the death of his mother. Dying his hair black, slimming down, picking up really bad habits. It couldāve been an uplifting story of how he picked up his signature sass and style, maybe even darkly contrasting it by showing that itās in part a sort of coping mechanism.

I worked on this game as an audio engineer, recording all the dialog in the studio and at the mocap stage. Despite all the grief this game has gotten, I have to say working on this title was one of the best experiences I ever had! Ninja Theory was amazing to work with and everyone had a real passion for the project, especially the creative director. I understand why this game was not well received but it will always have a special place in my heart. I agree it would have done better as it's own new IP instead of a Devil May Cry reboot. It is risky business changing a beloved franchise!
