Although many are familiar with the Israelites, their culture, language and faith, few truly understand their genetic origins. In this video, we will take a deep dive into the origins of the contemporary Israelite population to determine which of them most resemble the ancient Israelites. Studies on Jewish ancestry on Wikipedia address the origin of the DNA of Palestinians and Samaritans, as well as the Canaanite and Semitic ancestry of the Levant. The Ancestry Brew channel offers additional references, while Jewish genetic studies on Wikipedia and the Ancestry Brew channel explore genetic research conducted by geneticist Ali. These studies investigate the ancient DNA of the Middle East, including Neolithic Canaanite and Semitic populations such as the Natufians and the Anatolian Neolithic farmers. Specific Jewish groups are also covered, such as Ashkenazis, Sephardim and Mizrahim, as well as Samaritans, Beta Israel and Palestinians.

The Israelites were NEVER KNOWN AS JEWS! Neither Abraham, Isaac, nor Jacob (Israel) were Jews. The Jews are descendants of ONE MAN, Judah, a son of Israel. The tribe of Judah (Jews) is only ONE OF TWELVE tribes comprising the nation of Israel. Each tribe was began by one of Israel's twelve sons. When the Israelites arrived in the Promised Land (Canaan) the land was apportioned among the twelve tribes according to the instructions given to Moses by Yahweh. Numbers 34) The priestly tribe of Levi did not get a singular portion of the land. instead they were to be given 48 cities plus their suburbs. When the Kingdom Israel was divided after the Death of Solomon, the Northern 10 tribes retained the name of Israel while the southern portion of the kingdom took the name of the largest tribe located there Judah. Judah was comprised of the two tribes of Judah and Benjamin along with many Levites. The northern Kingdom of Israel was conquered by the Assyrians in 721 BC and its people taken into captivity. After the fall of the Assyrian Empire, none of the 10 tribes returned to their land as they had been almost completely assimilated into the society of their captors they had forgotten their true identity. The southern Kingdom of Judah lasted until 587 BC, when it was conquered by the Babylonians, who carried virtually the entire population into exile. When the Persians conquered Babylonia in 538 BC, Cyrus the Great allowed the Jews to return to their homeland, where they rebuilt Temple of Yahweh at Jerusalem that had been destroyed by the Babylonians. The history of the Jews from that time forward is predominantly the history of the tribe of Judah. The Jews have been very successful in pushing the narrative that they are the entirety of the people chosen by Yahweh. This is far from the truth. The Holy Scriptures chronicle and verify this fact.If you can’t properly distinguish the 12 tribes of Israel, then you will be unable to correctly identify them in any ancestral DNA research.

There has never been a specific historical country called palestine or a people or language called Palestinian. The country of Israel was renamed Palestine by the occupying British empire to establish their presence in the area but the Jewish people never adopted that name. Naming it so doesn’t make it so but it continues to legitimise a wrong inflicted on the Jewish people by numerous invading occupiers from the Roman Empire onward, all of whom renamed the area to suit their own agenda. Jordan, Syria, Egypt and Lebanon were also referred to as palestine by the British, would you continue to call them that now or is it only Israel that has to suffer that injustice?

There are no “lost tribes of Israel”. That’s a man made concept. God Almighty, who created them, knows exactly where they went and where they are to this very day.

The descendants of the ancient Israelites are still scattered and come from the line of Shem. Gentiles are from the line of Japheth.

I really didn’t need a genetic study to figure this out , Jews in Europe mixed with Europeans and Jews in the Middle East mixed with middle eastern people

Studies on the genetic composition of Ashkenazi, Sephardi, and Mizrahi Jewish populations show significant amounts of shared Middle Eastern ancestry.

שלום! I'm sephardic (North of Portugal, border of Spain), but wasn't grow as jew. Many family members didnt know their origins. I took a DNA test which show me very interesting things... For instance I found I have Italian dna markers (and German as well as Polish and Russian)....but what left me astonished was the kohanim marker. I always felt a priestly impulse but I thought it was nothing more than influenced nonsense... apparently it isn't! עם ישראל חי 🇮🇱🇵🇹 ב"ה

Describing non Jews in the area today known as "Palestina" to be Palestinians, is an error... You are talking about the Arabs in the region called Palestine today.... The word Arab, (meaning dessert dweller) comes from the Hebrew word "Arav" where the world "Arava" also comes from meaning dessert... The name Palestinian ALSO comes from the Hebrew word "Pelesh" which means INVADER...and the place of origin of the REAL Phillistines (from which the Roman Emperor Hadrian contrived the name "Palestina") was an island in the Mediterranean Sea..... Please be sensitive to these facts when you do your analysis... In other words...if you DO insist on talking about Palestinians...then let me tell you that the ONLY true Palestinians are the Jews who never left Israel... You can read the history penned by Adriaan Reland (aka Hadriani Relandi) in the book he wrote in latin.... Palaestina ex monumentis veteribus illustrata – a detailed geographical survey of biblical Palestine, written in Latin. Published by Willem Broedelet. Utrecht 1714

I’m impressed and appreciate the reference of the most recent study of 2020. This information seems reasonable in its conclusions and doesn’t appear to have an agenda. It’s nice to learn something without having to account for an agenda. Wondering if others more educated on the matter than myself consider this presentation as reasonably accurate?

Yes what I learned is genetics of ALL people groups is a mix bag of people groups! What matters is your conduct and beliefs not your genetics!
