Scholars are uncertain which grave belongs to which king/queen. Meanwhile I am amazed that we can hesitantly say "this 4500 year old grave probably belonged to one of these two named persons".

Miano doesn't have the technology to make such great videos by himself. He must have help from aliens.

I visited Ur when stationed at Tallil Air Base in 2006. I climbed the zigurat and was able to climb down into some of the tombs. It sparked my interest in ancient history, I’ll never forget it.

Fascinating stuff. One of my favourite kind of archeological mysteries, one where we have a lot of clues, dates and names and the answers seem to be just within reach. I can totally understant the appeal of having to work with some of the earliest written records. Can't wait for more videos like this.

The thing that gets me is the tombs death pits have so many retainers in them, it's very bizarre to see a Jones town type sacrifices. They drank potion with their own cups, from a cauldron found. The amount of females to males was 60 of them and around 6 males tells you it was his harem he wanted to take with him.

Thanks so much Dr Miano! This is one of my top 3 or 4 topics (among which I can't choose a favorite). Please give us more and longer videos on Sumer. I realize that so little is known of it, in comparison to later civilizations, but it's a topic that many of us never tire of. ❤❤❤

Love getting the background on Ur and the vicinity--the stuff of legends and now, with this video, some more facts. Thanks, Doc.
