Get better mixes, faster with my 3-step guide to perfect EQ:
www.offshoreaudio.no/eq

Everyone wants a changeover to be quick, seamless, and pain free.

I’m going to show you how to use scenes, snippets, and safes to change mixer settings quickly when something is changing on stage, and we’re going to do it without any sound dropouts.

Scenes and cues are just different ways of recalling specific mixer settings, while safes are a way of preventing things from being recalled and changed. These features are easily overlooked but can make your mixing life easier, and I’ve spent time digging into them to give you the info you need to make your shows run smoother.

You'll learn:

How and when to use scenes for big picture thinking

When to use snippets for finer details

How to prevent any unexpected surprises with safes
00:00 Introduction
00:42 Saving scenes on M32 or X32
01:55 When to use scenes
03:02 Using snippets to automate your show on m32
05:17 Protecting mixer settings with safes

I use snippets for changing out fx and fx settings for specific songs, mainly changing VOX verbs. I also use it for swapping input gains for keys... Sometimes this is directly into SD16 but on some stages I need to use a stereo DI, with different gain and phantom enabled. Makes setup much easier. They are useful capabilities.

Thanks for another great video Andrew. Would you happen to know what the XR18 snapshots functionality would be most akin to when compared with Show, Scene and Snippet.?
