FL is my DAW of choice. But thereās one important feature you might want to touch on, the Panning Law. Thereās an option to change panning law, from Circular to Triangular. This will allow you to hard pan various channels without boosting them over zero dB, if you select Triangular. Circular is the default, and will force users to reduce their input level when hard panned because Circular panning law dictates that a hard panned channel is louder.
Another important feature for tracking is the Fruity Limiter which is on the master channel by default. This will allow users to smash audio together. Nice but this destroys mix dynamics. To do a mix in FL itās best to disable any limiters until the end of the process. This will force the mixer to keep an eye on the mix levels, not exceed zero dB. Fruity Limiter is useful for those occasional spikes that exceed zero.
Channel routing, another powerful tool to sum channels into one or two channels for recording. Multi-tracking is nice at first, but very difficult to manage a high track count session. This is also a useful working method to get recorded audio to default to the correct mix channel and will save time assigning tracks to the mixer.
FL also records fader moves, MIDI, and automations, so if youāre adjusting things while recording, these will all become automations. This can become a hinderance. So itās becomes prudent to edit your projects automations using the Browser.
Youāre doing great. Thank you for the series.

Thanks for the video. I only needed the first 17s to fix my problem. Kept playing my beat while recording in Edison and couldn't isolate my vocals without getting the beat. As soon as I saw that you weren't using the Master Channel for your vocals something in my brain clicked and I realized that was my issue.
