NF went from “I ain't gon' say that I forgive you 'cause it hasn't happened” to “and I can't hold this unforgiveness in my heart no more.” I’m so proud of him.

She's at peace bro. There's no addiction in heaven ❤️😔 As a mother of 3 i want you to know ur music really woke me up when i was in my addiction. I'm now almost 6 years clean because of it! Thank you! And my kids thank you as well 🙏❤️ Forgiveness is the most beautifullest thing we could ever concur!! And it makes us stronger!! Much love 💕

Two days ago was the 11 year anniversary of losing my mom. I know she's in Heaven, not feeling pain anymore and having the biggest smile on her face, just experiencing pure joy. I love you, Mama.

“I gotta know mama, did you think you were trash? Something disposable, that nobody could love or be glad to say they was with you? That issue is an issue I have” damn.

My mom died when I was 10. 15 years later and this song comes along to say what I’ve needed to say. Thank you for your music ❤

Ok so the song made me tear up, then the comments actually got me crying. To all of you talking about the parents or family you’ve lost to addiction, I’m sorry for your loss, which I’m sure you’re tired of hearing. None of what you were put through is your fault and none of what they put themselves through is a true reflection on them as people, my sister was addicted for a while to some hard things and luckily she’s now turning a corner which makes me incredibly happy cause I was the only one in my family to believe in her. Sometimes people just can’t beat the battles they’re facing because they don’t even recognize they’re in a battle to begin with. Also, other comments that made me cry more were some parents in here saying they have cleaned themselves up after listening to his music and holyyyy. I’m so proud of each and every one of you. Battles never over so just keep in your heart that nothing you can take can ever heal the pain you may be facing, only going through the pain and facing it head on will get you through. You can’t heal yourself if you’re numbing yourself, just remember that. Lastly, I love you all. We are all brothers and sisters on this earth and we need to support each other more. Be there for your friends or family who have an addiction problem as well as for the people who are victims to having a person they loved taken by addiction. John 3:16 ♡

I just came across this song and I’m literally in tears. 😢 I lost my mom to cancer 29 years ago this year, when I was 4 1/2. Hearing him say “I hope you’re up there with god feeling free of your pain” just killed me. 💔🥹 if you got your mom still, hug her tight. 🥺

[Intro] Ooh-ooh, hey Ooh-ooh, wow-oh-oh Ooh-ooh, hey Ooh-ooh, wow-oh-oh [Verse 1] Yeah, you ever make it up to the gate? And if you did, I wonder, is it a beautiful place? Did He put His arms around you, and make you feel like you're safe? Did He grab you by the hand and say that things are okay? I gotta know mama, did He show you some grace? Give you a pass and tell you He would carry the weight? Do you smile more? Wonder what it's like when you pray Is He standing in front of you so you could look at His face? When you talk to Him, does He talk back? You ever have conversations about what you regrеt? Or did it all go away once you got there? Doеs each breath Take you closer to God? Would you say that you cry less? Do you feel at peace yet? Do you laugh more? Do you feel like heaven is everything you could ask for? I ever make it up there, when I see you, I hope you're smiling 'Cause you deserve it, pray to God that you found joy And always know that— [Chorus] You don't gotta cry, you don't gotta cry no more I hope you're up there lookin' down on us with a smile on your face You don't gotta cry, you don't gotta cry no more I hope you're up there with God feeling loved and set free from your pain [Verse 2] Yeah, I look at the situation you had Mighta made a mistake of leaving, but it's makin' me sad Thinkin' of you, how you grew up tryna cope with your past Were you like me in your relationships and pushed away Dad? I gotta know, Mama, did you think you were trash? Something disposable, that nobody could love or be glad To say they was with you, that issue is a issue I have That's why it hurt me when Britney gave me those letters you sent I barely read any of 'em knowin' I'd let them go to my head And get to me, especially when I feel I related Might not be around for my babies, but know when I say that I love you, that I mean it okay? 'Cause nobody's perfect Yeah, I guess we all fall short And I can't hold this unforgiveness in my heart no more So just know you're Loveable to me, and of course You'll always be Mama to us, we'll save a table for four And know that— [Chorus] You don't gotta cry, you don't gotta cry no more I hope you're up there lookin' down on us with a smile on your face (On your face) You don't gotta cry, You don't gotta cry no more (No more) I hope you're up there with God feeling loved and set free from your pain (Mama) You don't gotta cry, no [Outro] Yeah, I'm grown now Took me a while to see the bigger picture 'Cause if you were here today and I was talking with ya It'd be a lot of tears of joy falling on my sweatshirt Prolly followed by some apologies and "Mom, I missed ya" Yeah, I pray you see me down here lookin' up Still got a lot of things that I need healin' from But I'll get there eventually, so don't you worry none I just hope you finally got some peace and you feel happy Mom, I love you

He wrote “how could you leave us” with so much anger and sadness. Now he’s in a better mental state with seeking acceptance and forgiveness. This song is so beautiful and the ultimate “I love you” to his mama. Never change, Nate.

From "How Could You Leave Us" to "MAMA"... that's a genuine and emotional journey through grief, acceptance, and appreciation. NF's music is just beautifully written. Truly REAL.
