First time i ever heard BLUE CHEER i was 16 years old. Was totally blown away. I am now 66 years old, putting on my headphones, and still getting blown away.

Blue Cheer were always ridiculously huge in their sound for a 3 piece outfit. There are bands on the radio today that don't sound as good as these guys.

Dickie said , in the '86 (?) Goldmine interview , that the band recorded a three song demo that got them a lot of airplay in San Francisco on underground radio , and , in a short time , signed to Phillips. I guess this must have been the version of "Summertime Blues " from those sessions. This is insane ! Thank you for posting.

Such an underrated band and undervalued band. Their sound is one of a kind, that's for sure.

Saw these guys in San Francisco at a place called The Western Front, in Sept. of '67. I laid flat on the floor to avoid being deafened. Sounded pretty good down there.

Blue Cheer was the ultimate in "underground," "psychedelic," "acid rock" as we used to say back in the day.

DAMN! I wish whoever has their hands on the master recording and remix this and bring the vocals up a bit. But that HEAVY, fuzz tone is the shit!

I remember gathering around with the other soldiers(Army - late 60s) I was with when we were off duty and listening to this while passing a whiskey bottle.

Even after 50 years shit hasn't gotten much fuzzier than this. They pretty much sealed it on their first go.

I've heard from some friends of mine who were around back than and they said Blue Cheer was the loudest band they could be heard outside the studio from a pretty good distance same when they played live. Not sure if it is correct or not. You can hear some heavy metal in this. I think Blue Cheer invited the metal sound not Sabbath.

I had the pleasure of seeing these guys at the Newport Pop festival and they were bad ass! The drum beat helps to make them one of the best.
