Have to acknowledge growth when it happens. Wizards responded with high-res images of leaks instead of the literal Pinkertons this time.

I agree, annoying that they keep printing free spells despite lots of evidence that this design approach is problematic. For Final Act, the thing that jumps out to me is that it will remove opponents energy counters

A point not addressed about Cthonian Nightmare is that it is now interactable. Recurring Nightmare resolves and can be activated without passing priority (returning it to the caster's hand therefore never presenting a window for on board interaction). The new card has an ETB trigger that must resolve before the activated ability can be used (because it is sorcery speed and the stack won't be clear if the ETB is still on the stack). The ETB to add 3 energy forces the card to pass priority around and gives players the opportunity to interact with the onboard enchantment.

People getting upset about creators talking about spoilers is wild to me. I would have never guessed people care about how Hasbro want to reveal their stuff. Especially if there is monetary value in having this information earlier, like you said.

Kappa Cannoneer is going to be bananas in Modern. Most of the pieces of affinity seem relatively cheap. Would be neat to have another ok deck to rotate around with.

Funny thing about Final Act is that it doesn’t remove your poison counters, just your opponents.😂

Null Elemental Blast sounds pretty good in Commander with monocolored decks. With all the colorless utility lands you can run in a monocolor deck, it's pretty easy to pay for it, and its effect is really desirable when playing monocolor outside blue. Countering Voja for 1 mana in my monowhite deck? Yes please. I kinda see it as a colorless Wash Away (1 mana commander counter). I will definitely experiment with it.

Is energy considered a counter? Ie, does final act drain all the energy people have? EDIT: yes it is, and yes it does. That makes sense as to why it's on the card as energy is a theme in the commander set (and maybe main set)

The other reason that Chthonian Nightmare is a "fixed" version, is because of the ETB trigger. It means that you can actually blow it up with a Disenchant effect when it enters. A part of what made Reoccurring nightmares so annoying was because of how it worked with priority meaning you never would never get a chance to target it with anything besides a Counter-Spell.

Just a note, final act hits OPPONENT'S counters, which is great if you're trying to protect your own experience/energy counters, but worthless if you're getting poisoned out or radded up

I'm really intrigued by the idea of a card that wipes all tracked game states like dungeons, monarch, day/night, etc. Problem mechanics or no it would be a nice tool to have access to.

20:22 I actually think that Flare of Denial is probably much much weaker than it looks…. They found a way to make a free counterspell underwhelming.

I love how MH3 goes back to old planes like Alara. Their headlines around Kappa and Meltdown were basically what I said in my head.
