I am Japanese. There was a very big earthquake that year. And my beloved had cancer. It was a very, very dark and hopeless year. I hated my life. This song is very good. This song was the source of overcoming despair. Whenever I went to visit her in the hospital, I always listened to this song. In deep despair.

My girl, 3yo, use to fall asleep listening this song since she was 6months old.. when I was pregnant I used listening this song watching the mountains, so astonished, so excited, so deeply happy, so... what I can say.. still in love, every night, with my baby and this song

This is like dark chocolate flavored music for my soul.

The part starting at 12:41 has this atmosphere of something that you have loved is ending. I imagined a person who is dying thinking: "This was it, this was life, I am so grateful to have lived in this beautiful world but now it's my time to go" This imagined scene got me into tears

I've only just recently discovered that I like listening to Mogwai while writing. I thought I needed absolute silence, but I was wrong. They inspire me.

I remember coming across this video in 2013 when I was living and teaching in South Korea. I had heard of Mogwai, but this was my gateway to their music. I listened to this song often on long subway rides. 12:20 hits and it’s like a montage of all the beautiful and difficult moments of your life should be playing. This song really takes you through your own personal past, present and future. Wonderful song and still my favorite Mogwai track.

This song has that feel that it would belong in a scene after a battle where the hero or heroes are looking out over a field of death and destruction, and then have to carry on.

feels like a cinematic invitation to take a step back, like a ghost in a futuristic city

I look at pictures of my old childhood home, to this song. And I look at it on recent realtor sites. How it's changed. How some parts are barely recognizable. Its all been renovated, repainted and all traces of my childhood has been scrubbed from the walls and sterilized into "modern decor". I see flashes of my old toddler photos on the white-washed walls. All the blurry warmth of childhood has been removed, and all that stands is a dwindling spark in my memory.

Nothing like Mogwai- never has been, never will be. In a league of their own.

This track always, always calms me down. No matter what I'm doing and where I'm at. It's absolutely magical and Mogwai are a group of geniuses

About halfway through I'm thinking that I don't want it to end, and I'm relieved to find I've still got more than 10 minutes left.

Post-Rock is purely a Re-Evolution of Modern Music. Simply take us back to the human greatness achieved in Classical Music composers. We can be captured again in the moods and emotions of our present time. Basically we take conscience that there is nothing more sacred than perturbation of the atmospheric pressure, is the air that surrounds us and so we breath... Musik.

12:17 onward always makes me so sad. It sounds like you're saying goodbye to someone...it makes me so sad. Really beautiful piece.
