It’s wild to think that I’ll most likely not die from old age but from a natural disaster caused by my species.

Lemme tell yah, as an Arizonan, we've been waiting for our state to just fully catch fire. We ain't getting water from the storms, and our Saguaro cacti are becoming so affected by the heat, the oldest ones are just falling over.

I worked at an agency that represented an oil company in Oklahoma. Was legit told by someone in the company, they didn’t think they cause earth quakes but they definitely make them more likely to happen… he also mentioned that the disposal wells could be even more dangerous because they go down much farther in comparison to fracking.

Honestly, climate change is one of the reasons I stayed in NW Indiana where I grew up. It sure as shit wasn't bc the Rs are doing so great with their super majority in this state (one of the worst infant and maternal mortality rates in the country to name just one example). I wanted to stay by a gigantic body of fresh water (Lake Michigan), and where temps wouldn't become unbearable, where drought, fires, and floods wouldn't be a high risk, and hurricanes and earthquakes never happen to begin with. We got tornadoes, and yeah that sucks, but I'll take that over all those other risks. I specifically bought a house with a basement largely bc of tornadoes existing here, and a large in ground pool (and central air conditioning) for all the hot days a comin'. And we've got Chicago 30 mins away so more job opportunities, world renowned hospitals, and a gigantic international airport within an hr drive. Course it'd be nice if we actually addressed this shit NOW while we can still mitigate some of it, but as that becomes less and less likely, I'm at least in one of the least risky place when all is said and done. Best I can do while I fight for our dumbass country to actually address it. 😕 And I'll keep fighting to make IN more Blue bc Goddamn the Rs in this state are gross (no surprise there though).

We literally moved from Las Vegas to Colorado because of its water situation. We will probably still flood and burn but at least it won't be 125 degrees outside and uninhabitable

Used to live in Phoenix for (college) Never understood why people would live/retire in a place like that. There also about to have a huge water issue.

Moved to a climate safe zone a year ago. House prices are going to skyrocket when insurers give up.

in colorado we went from dry 90's, maybe 100, to suddenly like 80 with heavy rain in a day or two, back and forth

Unfortunately I live in Oklahoma but earthquakes started and ended when they understood where the fracking was causing the problem, it’s rare now and never caused that much widespread damage.
