Something I like doing with regular Everdell is swapping in and out the different expansions to keep the game different. I have to imagine that, as designers, they were like glad to have the extra flexibility of being able to mess with and change the base game. I like that the rulebook has a very brief section that use can use to learn the game of you have played Everdell before. Price concerns are 100% valid but as a game im happy with it

A lot of people were complaining it's too similar to Base Everdell to justify buying a whole new game especially since Farshore is $70-$100 but it really does feel like a refined/definitive Everdell experience. It has a lot of elements from several Everdell expansions packed into one cohesive experience. I do miss the card matching though. I know it made the experience a little clunky due to the randomness but i liked it thematically and it really immersed me into the city building theme of Everdell.
I wish it had asymmetric player powers though. Everdell Bellfaire introduced player powers and they were so much fun.

Thanks for the review. I am big everdell fan and have been considering this one for a while. I'm still not sure if I'll pick it up or not but you've given me new things to consider!
