My dad would be 80 years old today! He passed when I was 7 and for a long time I never felt sad, I knew he was in my heart but as I got older I got told to be sad and that he was gone! Well I grieved felt sad but one morning about 8 year ago I randomly got this song in my head, at the time I had a singing channel on YouTube and as I checked my inbox to see what videos people had shared that day to me “ you are my sunshine “ was one of them, I truly believe that was his way of reminding me he is still here and always will be, I can’t actually feel sad anymore because I know that just blocks the signs he sends every day to me! For as long as his in my heart he is forever here and I know that will make him feel at peace no more tears 😌❤️ this is such a beautiful cover!

My mom used to sing this to me when I couldn’t sleep (which was often) I cry every time I hear this song because I know I can never replicate the feelings that I felt when she would sing this to me. I also remember my dad and I singing this to my sister when she was a baby because she IS our sunshine. She is THE single reason that we get up in the morning, if it weren’t for her, my dad and I wouldn’t be here today. You have no idea how much this cover means to me.
