This video makes me very excited. I remember in 3rd grade when we were told to get a leaf, trace it in the paper, then color it green. Everyone got a perfect score but me. So politely I ask my teacher what I did wrong. She replied that the leaf I drawn has brown on it instead of green. In my mind "but there is a brown part of the leaf." That is when I knew that following the instruction of the teacher is more important than being original and creative.

Thank you so very much. Iโ€™m 82 and drawing has always scared me but at the same time itโ€™s something I always wished I could do. Iโ€™m going to be with you for these lessons, one a day. So excited! ๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿ‘ต๐Ÿป๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿ’•

Can we build a community and somewhere upload our results over time - under a hashtag? ๐Ÿ˜

What I (besides the content) really love about your videos is, that you do not cut every other sentence or even mid-sentence like so many other people. A huge THANK YOU for that and all your calm messages and ideas and stories. Everything ๐Ÿ˜Š Greetings from Germany!

I'm the type of person who doesn't comment on YouTube videos. But today I decided to do it because I'm very grateful to have found your channel. Firstly because the way you speak is so calm, pleasant and the English is easy to understand (since I'm not a native speaker). This video seems to have made me believe that I will be able to draw one day, so I wanted to thank you for your work and encouragement. Absolutely loved your channel.

Thanks. I have been drawing each morning on a small memory pad. So far, Iโ€™m enjoying it but I label my finished sketch so I can remember WHAT I was drawing. I just had my 70th birthday and Iโ€™m having fun!

I never noticed that a mug is curved at the base. I would have drawn a straight line. So I learned something new today.

This is a pretty tall order. I am 70 yo. I always wanted to draw and paint but even stick figures failed me. Last year I started watercolor which I am terrible but it soothes me. I attempted to draw a little every night but became very discouraged. One thing is I love to learn! I am going to give this a try. Thank you.

I have paid for online art courses that do not cut to the chase and make me feel like I am learning right away and that I can be excited about doing more. Thank you so much.

Just yesterday I sadly realized that I donโ€™t have a hobby, something I really look forward to do everyday and whenever I have some spare time. Suddenly today I came across this video and it made me smile. I love how you communicate and how you take pressure off the process. Iโ€™ve always wanted to learn how to draw but my perfectionism paralyzes me. Iโ€™ll do it this time with you by my side. Thank you so much because this video really made my day!

I have always wanted to learn to draw. It's been something that I have dreamed about for literally decades. My mother could draw and it always fascinated me. It's always been something i have admired in others and I've just always thought i could never do. Every time I think about trying to buy a sketchbook and a few pencils i get afraid and a bit overwhelmed in the art store and I just don't. ๐Ÿ˜ž

So many people act like art is some magical talent your born with. That's definitely not how it feels. It takes patience and effort like anything else. I just never stopped doing it since childhood. It was fun to me and stayed that way all these years. I think your videos will really help people learn that they can make art too! And it doesn't have to be a harshly judgmental experience. โค

I have always loved drawing, but drawing didn't seem to love me...until yesterday. While still in lesson # 1 I grabbed my calendar 2024 and decided to rename it "my sketchbook #1" ...and went through to lesson #4. Thank you sooooo muchโค

Thank you. I've been trying to learn from a book and it didn't explain why practising straight lines, circles etc. was a useful thing to do. My coffee mugs didn't work out well, but I now understand why and I'm already more confident.
