Standard Records was founded by the duo composed of François Giesberger and Baptiste Malgoire. It is thought as a space of freedom for sound but also for visuals, as the two friends devote themselves daily to the field of visual art and scenography.

After meeting Annie Ohayon, ex-publicist of Lou Reed and Laurie Anderson among others, Baptiste and François work on a first live, blending their respective musical productions.

Nearly three years after the release of their first album, "Cycle I", noticed and playlisted by Bicep, the duo Standard returns with a four-track EP, soberly titled "Comma", thought as a punctuation introducing the second cycle of releases from Standard Records. If the previous opus was built around 9 resolutely progressive titles, "Comma" breaks somewhat with this contemplative dimension and takes on a much more immediate character.
Although the whole of the EP is imbued with a Break and Acid character, and provided with a resolutely UK identity, the omnipresence of vocal samples from hits of the 90s and 2000s, gives it a much more pop dimension and suitable for dancefloors.
"Comma" is notably composed of a title in two parts, "A Place", i.e. two reinterpretations breaks from the hit “All the Things She Said” by the duo t.A.T.u., one with very strong melodies; the other darker, deeper and minimalist.
The title “Precious” uses vocal samples from the essential “Waterfalls” by the group TLC, adding an R.N.B color to this new opus.
Finally, “Need Somebody 2”, galloping at 160 bpm, is carried by a sample of voices with Ghetto House accents.

François Ier is an electronic music project led by François Giesberger since 2013, the year during which he co-founded the toulouse collective and label Boussole Records, and publishes a first EP, 1515, whose melancholy character is quickly noticed.
Three EPs followed, Neptune in 2014, Nyrmal in 2015 and Hôtel du Nord in 2016, on Boxon Records and Haut Cinq, inside from which François strives to produce aerial, dancing and colorful music.
Initially confined to local stages, the media relay enjoyed by François allows him to perform in many venues and festivals (Transmusicales de Rennes, Montreux Jazz Festival, 36h de St Eustache, Les Déferlantes, Le Trianon, La Flèche d'Or, Le Cabaret Aléatoire...) in French-speaking territory as well as in New York and Berlin.
In the spring of 2021, François reveals his first album, Methuselah, the second release from Standard Records, after 5 years of absence.
Graduated from the Ecole Supérieure d'Audiovisuel de Toulouse and working for several years in film production documentaries, François devotes particular importance to the visual arts; interest that has already been shown in the realization of the From Roubaix clip shot on 16mm film, as well as in the conception of Gaetano e Umberto, a documentary fiction produced in early 2018, or more recently clips of three songs from Methuselah.
