This is a brief video explaining how to gain easy AP.
Overdrive Mode for Wakka and Auron was set to "Comrade" which charges Overdrive whenever an ally takes damage.
Both Auron and Wakka have weapons which contain Triple Overdrive as well as Overdrive to AP. You can add Triple AP to make the process go faster if you wish.
Wakka also has Auto-Phoenix to automatically revive any downed ally.
Don Tonberry has a counter-attack which takes the amount of fiends your character has killed, multiplies it x100 and deals it as damage.
With the weapons set to convert Overdrive to AP, this will take that damage and convert it to AP rather than charging the OD guage. Triple Overdrive and Triple AP will multiply that as well.
The rest is rather self-explanatory.
You can flee the battle after Don Tonberry has moved up close if you do not have Break Damage Limit to kill him, and you will still retain the AP.
