8:38 this looks like an image I would send my bro with the caption "this what you look like."

23:59 Jesus, I think this is the image I saw when I was a kid. The memory is blurry, but I always thought that huge hole at the center was some kind of dirty lake. I only saw this image once, and it stuck with me, since. My dad and uncle were listening to some music, and the song "Dance With my Father" was playing during this moment. That's why I'm, strangely, reminded of this creepy picture wherever I hear that song. 😭

Here's a rough translation of the comic at 20:07
"Veronica just finished redecorating her room! I hope she stops using my money!"
"Where are you going?""buying clothes!"
"My clothes no longer combine with my closet!"

Ugh, I'm usually a big fan of horror stuff, but the picture in Check the Camera struck some kind of primal nerve when I first saw it years ago. It literally took me two days to come down from the fight-or-flight I felt when I first saw it. I don't know why it hit me that hard, but to this day it scares me more than any other horror media I've come across.

I've been seeing a bunch of these iconic image origin videos a bunch lately and I'm all here for it. We never stop to think where something comes from be it an image based creepypasta or even a funny meme. An example I personally love was the asulym patient used often in conjunction with the Russian sleep experiment- obviously looking back now its an edited photo of a Halloween decoration but at the time the story was written/image used to represent it, the unknown origin added to the creepiness and the same goes for the likes Eyeless Jack or Jeff the Killer or even Smile.dog

It’s still wild to me that Victim #1 was found.
