As a Noir junkie and big fan of Dashiell Hammett, I was pleasantly surprised when I first saw an ad for this series a couple weeks back. The first episode did not disappoint! Can’t wait to see the rest of the series! Owen plays a good Sam Spade.

Clive Owen is a very good actor. He hasn't received the recognition that people like Redford and Pitt have. They can choose what they want and despite Jeremiah Johnson and WW Z, for examples, both were given good opportunities and chose well.
Hopefully, Owen has more nose than need for a role and this movie's script, direction, etc. live up to what he can do in a good role.

Kind of sad read that folks seem to think that contemporary hollywood-type-fame is equated with art and talent. Hey, there's a world out there that knows that Clive Owen will be remembered long after Redford and Pitt for both his acting and role choices. Mr. Owen does his job really well. Can't wait to see this series!
