And this, is the perfect example explaining to thicken headed novice producers and artist that you don’t need a gigantic studio with $700,000 worth of studio equipment just to record and mix an album. You can simply record and produce an album at home with equipment with less than $2,000! Hopsin also explains that.

I love gear that helps bring about immediacy of getting ideas across, like Finn suggested. Always found a DAW w/ mouse and KB as a detriment to that approach though, at least for the early idea phase. My ideals are Elektron Octatrack, MD UW+, A4, Synthstrom Deluge, and iPad Pro running Drambo and various synth/FX plugins = all helps you get incredibly intimate with the sounds — far more inspiring than starting on a blank canvas in the box, imo.
