I must point out how impressive it is that Adam and the crew managed to narrow it down to just 10 matches

I love that you specify ā€œthat arenā€™t the fingerpoke of doomā€

Man, Im still shocked by the fact they kept that Sid match going after his leg was torn in two. He's practically suffering in the ring and can't move and WCW says "We have to fill the time, do something, anything!" instead of getting this man the medical help he needs.

I didn't know the match continued when Sid broke his leg. Poor guy.

Biggest lesson ever- Do NOT let Hogan have creative control

I don't think enough people talk about just how badly WCW ruined Sting after Starrcade '97.

Not to mention WCW didn't care to tell their wrestlers about the trapdoor at Fall Brawl 1998.

Fun fact: My dad bought me that same Halloween havoc VHS as my first real WCW PPV. I remember enjoying some of the mid matches. But even child me couldnā€™t figure out what in the world was going on in this main particular match

Oh boy. As a WCW kid, this one is going to hurt.

Thereā€™s a reason the finish of that scaffold match was basically nonexistent. Traditionally you win a scaffold match by throwing your opponent off of it, but apparently none of the wrestlers involved in the Great American Bash ā€˜91 match wanted to take that bump (most wrestlers hated working scaffold matches when they were in fashion for that exact reason) because it was changed to ā€œcapture the flagā€ rules. Unfortunately the cameras completely missed it when Eaton grabbed Austin and Taylorā€™s flag, so the commentators didnā€™t realize the match was over until the bell rang.

5:20 Sounds like Rude vs Chono would break Wrestling Bios' chinlock soundbite.

Iā€™m surprised there was no Hogan vs Jarrett at Bash at the Beach 2000, since that abomination is technically a match šŸ’€

I'd love to see a list of "10 WCW matches so much better than expected." šŸ™‚

Compared to Warrior vs Hulk Hogan match at Halloween Havoc 1998, Fingerpoke of Doom was a very fun thing to watch. At least, it had a shocking part. Warrior vs Hogan literally had nothing. That match is more famous for revealing that Horace is Hulk's real life nephew then for literally anything else.

To be fair, Chono was working the match with a broken neck. It was crushed during a match with Steve Austin a month prior, with Austin going too low with a Tombstone Piledriver.

It's a shame WCW and WWF didn't have a crossover until Vince bought out the competition and trashed its legacy as a final insult to the company that forced him to change his own to be better. Could you imagine Ministry Undertaker vs. Sting? Or Brett Heart letting loose his opinions on Vince in a shoot promo? Or the Rock vs. Macho Man for the bat shit insane promos alone? Or Chris Jericho shooting on WCW and Goldberg? So much missed opportunities!

Goth vs Goth feud in Sting vs Vamperio could've been done so much better.

Rick Steiner vs Sting in 1999 (the one with dog attack). WCW really loved making Sting look weak after 98, didn't they

Blood wasn't that uncommon in WCW in the late 90s. I know this as I've been binge-watching the stuff from 96 to 99. I think you could get away with a lot more violence with a TV-PG rating back then. It's very telling that the uk dvd/vhs releases for WCW have 15 and sometimes 18 ratings.
