The first half of the youtube.com/post/Ugkx3ICSK6nSknaL_45CU2NmFSoXjarGM… book is everything about wood: types, tools, finishes, setting up shop etc. The second half is all about doing projects for inside and outside of the home. The color pictures are helpful. After reading a dozen of these types of books, this is probably the best overall (layout, color photos, plans). Only detraction is that many of the projects use a table saw/router/planer, which are usually expensive and take up space, so the plans are less friendly to newcomers and the budget conscious. But I know I can use a drill, circular saw or a jigsaw to make the projects.

That’s a really great build. I used the same concept to do the front of my porch. Halfway into it, I began to question my choices. It seemed like I had to use way more lumber than I should have. And I began to regret it, especially when it came to painting it. Now, I know it was all worth it. I get tons of compliments and people say it looks very modern. Thanks for sharing!

I loveeee the 2x4 furniture concept/abstraction as well & love this bed sm!
I use wood pallets I find… made a veggie/fruit garden along the wall of my home & couldn’t be happier with it!
I’m looking to make an extra large sectional couch with wide chase lounges on each end that can be slept on & planning on sectional pieces that can convert into cots for guests & another part of it will be a bed for me!!!
My kids are young adults & out of the house now so I’m downsizing to a studio but want to always have places for them to sleep they visit (& grandkids if that becomes a thing) 😊

So I ran the numbers.... 35 2x4's at $7 costs $245 35 2x4's at $3.50 (normal price) costs $122,50 Double the normal price, but for $250 I'd say this bed is worth it!
