Here's my interpretation of the video. I think it's a bash on the music industry. The fat guy on the floor in the beginning who puts on a pair of dancing shoes represents the average American musician without fakeness and filters or stardom and fans. The mainstream music industry and their lucrative record deals (represented by the kids) finds the guy, acknowledges his talent, and offers him a deal to record at their studio. (hence why he smiles before they shoot him with lasers) They take him to this wild, foreign planet, which represents the mainstream world. The surgery represents the music industry creating the next in a long line of "perfect humans" for people to idolize like peasants looking at gods. Him dancing again, despite the fact that he is upset with the outcome of the surgery, represents the way stars are forced to stay true to the fictional characters they've been assigned and parade themselves around like ignorant fools. Finally, him entering the room with all the other "perfect humans" and screaming is the star being helpless because he discovers that this operation, so to speak, is done on all celebrities. Therefore discovering that the exact uniqueness that makes us adore celebrities is just a lie that covers up the exact opposite... celebrities are just pawns in the game that the mainstream media plays. But that's just my interpretation.... Also, killer song.
