In 2014 I was in the psychiatric emergency room with my partner at the time playing some version of this song on my phone to comfort myself. My partner was an English degree dropout and she explained the poem it was about.
We broke up a few weeks later for her mental health (valid, please don't shame that) and drifted. I hoped to talk to her again someday in passing and thank her for who she was to me and all that time meant. To wish her well and stuff. She passed away in May 2019 of a suicide. I know survivor's remorse is its own mess but just...
tell other people what they mean to you. You don't have to reconcile with others but it's okay to get sentimental sometimes.

I remember finding this song around the same time my cat died, I knew her for my whole life and she felt like my sister. Living on without her when things got rough at home was awful, I felt so alone and like the house was empty, I missed her every day but still tried not to think about her because of how much it hurt. But this song reminded me of memory, I woke up late one morning and she noticed, she started meowing at me and I tried to pretend I was still asleep to see what she’d do, I peeked at her and she was staring right back at me with the sun blaring through the window behind her. It seemed like nothing then, but now that memory feels so warm, and so bright, and peaceful. Like when you’re facing the sun and close your eyes. This song reminded me that I had to let her go, that she’d want me to so I could move on. Part two hits almost as hard but for VERY different reasons surrounding my first relationship three years later and how it ended
