THIS is the Chris Daughtry I remember watching on American Idol when I was 20 years old and he blew up after being on there. His vocals are unreal!! And Chris and Lzzy sound like two friends rocking out and having fun.

The original held a special place for me whenever I would listen to it with my dad. In fact, his love of 70's/80's music, in general, was something we bonded over a lot growing up, but Journey was just always something we listened to, especially on long car rides. Anyway, I lost my dad this past December to cancer so I was excited to see how this cover was going to turn out but was also a little sad because I know my dad would have appreciated it. It's been two months since it dropped and I listen to it several times a day still and it brings up so many memories I spent with my dad bonding over music. I can't wait to see Daughtry at Aftershock this year and I hope somehow Halestorm can get added to the lineup so I can see you both perform this together. π€
