He descubierto a esta banda hace unas semanas gracias a sus segundo disco "After the Gold Rush Party", el primero "Golden Year" se editó en 2015, un trabajo variopinto donde funden multitud de estilos y sus más claras influencias, desde Talking Heads, Neu! a Devo. Husbands son un dúo de Oklahoma formado por Danny Davis y Wil Norton, viejos compañeros de universidad que en realidad se ganan la vida como ingeniero de software y abogado, respecticamente. Amantes del pop indie pretendían hacer un álbum más krautrock, pero les ha quedado bien como está. Cuentan que llegaron al estudio de grabación con setenta canciones e hiceron una cruenta criba para dejar solo trece en el disco. Mi favorita "Manhorse".
Estos treintañeros tratan de compaginar sus trabajos y familias con su energía creativa, algo que parece que van logrando. Su sencillo "México" ha aparecido en Heavy Rotation de NPR y fue nombrada la canción número uno de 2019 por el Oklahoma Rock Show.
