Finally, a real person doing an informative video about Maine Coons with real footage! Thank you so much for this video. My husband is interested in getting one and I want him to be informed by a real person with real experience. I don't trust the videos made by AIs. Loved seeing your beautiful kitties!

I have a Russian Mainecoon. Hugely needy, and needs lots of excercise so I built him a wall GYM for climbing and hanging. He is a ROADY cat and travels with me in the car when I go to conferences or on vacations. He loves to lay on my shoulders and watch the scenery while I am driving. I should have bought 2, because the american short hair cat I have thinks he is a mutant and really doesn't like him very much because he plays too rough. Probably not on purpose, he is just twice the size and weight.

Youā€™ve made me want a Maine Coon even more. Didnā€™t think it was possible to want one more than before. But, you did with all you said about how much they love & want to cuddle constantly. Iā€™ve only owned strays. And, that was fine. After owning my last cat for over 20 years, I finally learned what it was like to have a cat that had a dog personality. The last 5-6 years of her life we traveled 2-3 times by car from North Florida diagonally to Seattle Washington. The two of us then stayed with my brother for a year each of the times we went. She was only with me the entire time. That cat loved me like no other cat Iā€™ve owned. Iā€™ve owned many cats over the decades. She wouldnā€™t even let me leave the room without her. She just followed my wheelchair wherever I went. I never knew a cat like her. Ebony was a long haired black domestic cat. She died September 27, 2020. Losing her hurt like no other cat or dog Iā€™ve ever owned.Last dog I owned died in 2008. Havenā€™t owned another dog since him. Havenā€™t even wanted one. And, I thought losing him was bad. The worst loss. Until 2020. Over two decades is a long time to bind with a cat. We went through so much together. Good & bad. I said all of that so youā€™d know just how important it is to me to have a loving/cuddling cat. It was 2 months before I even thought about even looking for another cat. Because, I knew Iā€™d never get another Ebony. Until, I saw a Maine Coon. It was here on YT. Felis Gallery-all beautiful Maine Coons! Before seeing this, I didnā€™t even know they existed. Instant love for me when I saw videos of Mr. Vivo. Iā€™ve loved them since. I still donā€™t have one. Yet. I did end up with two very sweet AND even more independent. Iā€™ve had them for a 1 1/2 years. Iā€™ve tried so hard to get their affection to no avail. One of them is a long haired black cat. I love them both. Iā€™ve even cried while giving them attention; only because, I needed it back from them so desperately. Especially, with the black one, Inky. Neither of them are interested. They are both sweet & kind. Just zero affection. This video hit me like a wall of bricks. I donā€™t know why. Iā€™ve been watching M/Coon videos for four years now. I even belong to many MC groups on Facebook. I just get so confused every time I look for one online. Itā€™s so hard & thereā€™s so many choices in color. Mr. Vivo is a black ghost MC & heā€™s gorgeous. But sometimes, I want more color. See what I mean? lol. Forgive me if this was too long. Thank you so much for this video. I already follow you. Your fur babies are beautiful.

The night thing is real, but hers seem nice about. My fur baby gets up in my face at 2 or 3 in the morning or pounces on me, because she wants to play. She is 17lbs not fun. However I found if I let her run and play about an hour before sleep time. Then she will usually let me sleep for 6 hours.

So when I was a kid I had an 8 lb cat long haired, beautiful cat. And then after that I had a short-haired Tabby who was about 17 lb. But I was in my teens. After that I had a little Siamese girl who was between 12 and 15 pence. And my last cat before this one was a little bitty girl who fluctuated between 5 and 7 lb. And then I got a Maine Coon monster. He weighs slightly in excess of 20 lb and he is not fat. So here's my pro tip. Get a Maine Coon when you're younger and save the 5 lb cat for after your 60.

I have heard from a vet that Maine Coons often have heart problems because of their size. Has that ever been your experience?

I had a stray I adopted and had a Maine Coon. I did not see a difference between my Maine Coon and other cats. Good tips for potential owners though to care for this particular breed. I do not like the breeding aspect as so so so many cats that make great pets are euthenized daily. Please stop breeding!

You shouldn't really leave your cats alone, any cats, for more than 12 hours. Really distressing, you're their entire universe along with the house they live in.

I realy hope that you let them out instead of keeping the locked up at that filthy backyard
