About Blur:
Blur were formed in 1989 by Damon Albarn, Graham Coxon, Alex James and Dave Rowntree and signed with Food/EMI the same year. Announcing their arrival with debut album Leisure in 1991, Blur continued to revolutionise the sound of English popular music with second release Modern Life Is Rubbish (1993). After nearly 20 years, I can officially say, they are my fave band of all time. The first concert I went to in '93 was like a religious experience. I was like WTF just happened. This is what it means to be alive! Never looked back. For the reunion concert in 2009 I flew from North Carolina to London just to watch them play again in Hyde park.

it's just such a perfect song, my niece is 17 tomorrow and it's like it was written for her. Blur are like Mozza and the Cure in that some of their best songs are hidden away as b-sides

This is such a special song and a wonderful version. It feels more poignant listening to it now as a relatively old geezer. The melody, damon's voice and coxon's soaring guitar capture so magically a moment in time, when all your life was in front of you. It's uplifting, optimistic and sad all at once. Amazing stuff.
