Scoundrel Days and East of the Sun West of the moon are by far their best work. I was hooked on both of those albums back in the early 90's. Had the cassette tapes playing constantly on my Walkman, lol.
They're so much more than the Synth-Pop sound. They're true songwriters and musicians. Just listen to the songs Scoundrel Days, Swing of Things, I've been losing you, Early Morning, Slender Frame, Move to Memphis etc. etc. too many to name....you get the pic.

I remember buying this on cassette when it came out, and I used to carry my walkman with me everywhere I went to be able to listen to East of the sun, West of the moon all the time! And all my buddies at the time were rock fans: GnR, Metallica, Alice Cooper and so on, but even they NEVER made fun of me for listening to this album, in fact, they always took my walkman from me because they wanted to listen to this awesome album themselves! Just goes to show that A-ha has real talent and is not bogged down to a certain genre e.a they don't make pop or rock, but they make MUSIC!! Morten referenced J. Hendrix somewhere: There is only 2 types of music: Good music and bad music!! Takk Morten, Pål og Magne for at dere ga meg og millioner av andre et solid og sunt fundament for hva musikk er og burde være! Dette har vært en uvurderlig visdom for meg når jeg selv lærte å spille gitar! Tusen takk karer for at dere alltid er dere selv! Det står det respekt av.
