Tip: if your using the guitar tuna app to tune your guitar a half step is - 10 so a whole step is - 20, or if you have a tuner irl put your capo to the second fret and tune it down till its in standard tuning then take it off and you will be a whole step down. I dont know how to tune by ear so I do this.

Note for people who just started playing: Marty tuned his guitar lower, but his fingers show chords that normally in a E tuning would sound higher, instead, the G position now sounds as a normal F position on regular E tuning and F#minor now sounds as a regular E minor and so on, don't let that confuse you, in a normal guitar tuning you would be starting with the F chord, then E minor, A7, D minor. It could be a little harder to play it this way since F is a bar chord you would be repeating a lot, but it will sound exactly the same due to the tuning change.
Marty is showing you the easy way to play it, but changing the tuning in your guitar could be a little frustrating if you're just starting.
Marty is excellent and I know he could explain this much better than me, hope he can link a video where he talks about this or he should upload one, several people I know that wanted to pick up guitar playing are stuck sometimes trying to understand this concept.

Thanks for the lesson marty, i've been playing guitar for about 1 3/4 years, i tried at a year and it was too intricate for me at the time. I tried at tonight and i managed to get it. So intricate yet so simple, i have no idea how McCartney came up with it. It also helps that you taught it, your teaching style really fits the way i learn. I'm a beatles fan so it felt good to get this down
