As much as it hurts, I know that the only way to feel better about this is to be better, moving on isn't just forgetting she exists, it's keeping your options open, love can't be killed by just asking it to go away, moving on isn't trying to kill those emotions, it's setting them aside to focus on other things, to be better than who you used to be.

oh and one more thing, self improvement shouldn't be treated like this ugly thing you have to do to be better. Self improvement should come out of a place of love for yourself, or the want to love who you are. That is why "villain arcs" don't work, the motivation comes from hate. Love is a much stronger bond than hate, and self-love is arguably the most attractive trait in a person.
