The blowing out of the candle at the end really makes it feel like I was listening to a pirate captain in a quiet pub, and when he finished his tale he reveals he was a ghost all along and vanishes in a cold salty mist that extinguishes all the lights as it blows out the window.

The feeling of listening to this is unexplainable. I couldn't concentrate on the lyrics but at the same time I was seeing all the visuals in my minds eye?? It was so intense and insane, I fear I'll never be able to fully grasp the lyrics and it's contents because I'll just be daydreaming about being a pirate but also about being "the one the sailors call the shadow". I love that "the one the sailors call the shadow" is such an abstract concept, like is she a witch? Why is she where she is and no one can come close to her helm? Why is she alone and does what she does to the sailors who try to tame her? WHAT IS HER STORY I NEED TO KNOW!!!

As the sun began to set upon the horizon, a few sailors had set foot in a tavern, looking for an old Captain. One of the lads stepped up the the bar, leaning over the counter towards the bartender. "Ah, what can i get ye lads?" The bartender asked. The one leaning over the counter whispered. "We're looking for the Captain of the Shadow." Said he. The bartender dropped the glass he was polishing. "Eh, over there, lads. The old sailor there, in the corner. But be wary, the man's loose in the noggin." The bartender warned. The sailors walked over to the dimly lit corner table, and had a seat in front of the old man. "Tell us about the Shadow." One of the men said. "Where do we find her?"

I can't stop listening. How the upbeat melody contradicts the story, but conveys a sense of adventure simultaneously, the placement of the candle, the camera angles, the lyrics... it is perfection.
