When Nic came to Drumeo, we had two hours left before he had to head to the airport, so I thought it would be fun to see if he could learn “Almost Easy” before his ride showed up 😆 Thanks for accepting the challenge!👊🏻

Most impressive. For someone that probably doesn't sit around practicing double kick bursts - especially at that tempo, he did a fine job for something on the fly. He got all the basics down and absolutely killed it.

That double ride lick by Rev is really sick

Man, I miss Jimmy so much, he would have been the most amazing guest on this show. Not only would he have played some amazing stuff, but he would have every one cracked up laughing. I love a lot of what A7X has done since he passed, especially the whole "The Stage" album, but I can't help but wonder what they would be like today if he was still around, because he really was the driving force behind a lot of their best songs back in the day.

The biggest take-away for me from this video is that it's ok to put something out there that's not "perfect", it's more about the process and our attitude towards learning something very difficult. Nic is a true professional and I really appreciated his approach to A7X! It wouldn't take him long to nail those double kick, ride blasts but obviously his time was limited on Drumeo. I love seeing Nic carry the torch for his father too! Rock on...

Very impressive goes to show how talented these drummers actually are, both from a writing and learning perspective. Excellent!

The dude is only 22 going on 23 and has such musical maturity. Playing metal is really it's own thing at the drums and even though he clearly isn't a metal drummer, he came as close to perfect as possible in such a short amount of time and with all the pressure of a studio session. Plus - this drumkit sounds amazing. Great job, great video!

The Rev was unreal. Great job with the song. Besides being a great drummer the Rev was such a huge part of the creative writing process for the band. His songs he brought to the band were amazing! RIP The Rev

That was incredible! I didn't even know Phil Collins had a son let alone is an amazing drummer! The Rev was an amazing drummer and to learn one of his harder songs that quick is quite a feat!

This track is HELLA tough to play accurately. Even attempting it requires serious bravery and mad chops on the drum kit. I think Nic absolutely crushed it, especially for someone who probably only had an hour or two to figure it all out and practice. His facial expressions on the china ride part were priceless.

Now add the fact that the Rev was also singing back up vocals all while playing these amazing drum parts!

If someone has impressed me the most on drumeo every time he is approached to do something, it has been Nic Collins

I love this series because it takes some of the best drummers on the planet and humanizes them. It shows you that even at the highest levels, it still takes practice and dedication. Not to mention that even the greatest can be thrown off by a musical curveball.

You can totally see that this is out of Nic's comfort zone (and he confirms it at the end), which makes it even more impressive how he manages to get into the song and how he plays that final take. I love those videos here on drumeo. Oh, and btw: Nic's Snare sounds amazing!

As fun as it is to see a drummer nail a song in no time, I WAY prefer watching a drummer struggle with the various parts and watching them work through it. This is one of my favorites thus far!
