I just got my Midgard and it's a really good amplifier. To be honest I even prefer it to some other more expensive products. Sounds great with Meze Liric and does a surprisingly good job with Susvara.
Yeah, Halo works. There is a difference between outputs and I prefer the Halo output. The sound is more natural and much better articulated. Also, it seems to dampen the Liric's peak at upper midrange.
For 219USD it's a steal even without Halo.

I received this amp a couple of days ago and I can definitely say it is excellent!!! I already own a singxer as-1, and a schitt vali 2+ and I can tell you it is a nice change of pace, it seems a bit more lively then the singxer which is exactly what I was looking for considering the singxer is a bit more laid back. And through the xlr output my sennheiser 6XX sound incredible!!! Props to Jason!!!

Fingers crossed on this technology working well for high impedance dynamic drivers. I prefer DD's overall soundwise and because of their lower weight, and if this addresses their weakness (distortion especially in the bass region) then Schiit can take my money.

Im happy they're keeping the price down for it, but ngl Id spend $15-$20 extra to have the better potentiometers/volume knobs vs these smaller ones. The smaller ones are used on the Magni and Loki devices, and have a ton of noise and scratching when adjusting the volume

I want to buy this product just because I like how Schiit does things. Always trying to think about things that appeal to audiophiles (objectivsts and subjectivists) and not afraid to try new things. It's a great way to keep the hobby fun. And they made this very affordable. I probably don't need it since I have an SA-1, but I might get it just cause.

I was curious enough about the "halo" that I contemplated buying it, but knowing that it doesn't even begin to matter with planars has me less curious.

Honestly kind of disappointing that they don't sell it in silver. I hope that's not a sign that they're ditching silver completely as they phase out the old, because that was one of the things that drew me to them, they didn't make a boring black box like everyone else. That said at least they've kept their otherwise unique appearance.

I didnât quite get it does it vary the output impedance across the frequency range? Or does it vary the output impedance over the entire spectrum. If the latter then they could just have put a knob on the amp and let the user experiment with different settings. Greetings from Denmark.

Cool, some subwoofers have acoustic/electric feedback systems to reduce distortion. Why not have it in headphones as well.
