I think we have to consider that Chris travelled to Korea. He didn't need to, as Jhope says they could have done it remotely. We know how much BTS love Coldplay. Also you can see Chris trying to learn Korean and including the different members . Neither of them needed the collab but seems more like a wanted collab and research was done into the messages behind what the groups believe in.

Let's face it, neither of them actually NEEDED this Collab. They've both made it big. So the fact they went to so much trouble to make the Collab tells me they WANTED it genuinely. Look at what Jimin said, Coldplay going all the way to Korea for them gave them a breath of fresh air. Korea has not been like the US during the pandemic, restrictions have been very strict there in comparison (and still are). The boys didn't get out or see people for so long, it must have meant so much to them. And this was back in April during even stricter restrictions. Coldplay will have had to pay thousands on arrival to Korea to isolate for 2 weeks before they even got to see BTS. Not just Chris Martin but the band and his whole team. If that's not a genuine want to do something like this then I don't know what is.

I get why you'd think that way, but it is somewhat sad that everyone near BTS is doubted for their ingenuity because we know how much influence they have. But honestly, Coldplay are very good people. Not even for a moment did I doubt him. He went all the way to South Korea just to record and direct properly and communicate with the boys. I believe, out of all the collaborations ever, this was THE most genuine one.

Extremely authentic. There was nothing in this video to me that showed otherwise. As an ARMY for many years, BTS are nothing but genuine. They really can't lie, like it's so obvious when they aren't into something. And Chris Martin is famously known for his kindness and authenticity as well. All of those smiles were real. How could they not?

I think the awkwardness of the smiles just comes from the fact that 1) Chris is in a foreign place where he doesnât speak the language. 2) Theyâre meeting for the first time ever 3) BTS might be feeling pressure since they all look up to Coldplay.
But considering who they all are as people, and the similar messages they spread with their music, itâs without a doubt a collab motivated by artistry.

BTS has a very accurate Bullshit meter. When you have faced blatant discrimination, you know when someone is authentic. Chris Marten is the real deal. When you are often used it is hard to not become jaded and assume that everyone is out to use you for less than reputable reasons. This seems genuine and filled with mutual admiration and respect. Not sure why you felt the need to question that authenticity at the end of a lovely and fun video. The fact that you wanted to show it on your channel shoyld be all the telling you need to know that you thought it was authentic. Please keep in mind that I discovered this channel because of my love for BTS. Don't become part of the problem please.

I don't think you could ever question the genuineness of this collab if you actually pay attention to anything the boys or Chris are saying in the documentary or their reactions to each other. This was based on pure respect and love for music which is surprisingly a very rare thing in the industry so this was a joy to watch.
Neither Coldplay or BTS need each other for anything. They're both artists who sell out stadiums worldwide in seconds. That's a true metric of success in my opinion. How many people are willing to go through the stress of waiting, queueing and fighting for tickets just to see you perform for a couple of hours because of how much joy you give them and both Coldplay and BTS have that.
