Honestly for me nothing beats the alarm for the missing children in France. This thing litteraly starts with a screamer and then a creepy ticking clock music starts and a deep voice repeats "A child has been kidnapped.". I live in Switzerland and we usually also watch the French channels and I remember discovering it because it wildly popped during a cartoon when I was a kid and it shitlessy scared me.

The fact I just voluntarily sat through almost 20 minutes of alerts. What a time to be alive.

My heart goes out to that Japanese reporter. He was warning about there possibly being a tsunami and the way he started to panic when it was confirmed, the fear in his voice when he said "Protect your Life!" and the way it cut off with the silence with nothing but that god awful sound after gave me chills. Luckily the tsunami was not that bad and nobody died. (Only was about 4 feet) But i hope the people who got hurt in the earthquake are recovering well.

2 things 1: the japan alarm gave me chills because he went from telling everyone to stay calm to shouting at everyone to leave so quickly and of all things REMINDING people of a horrible event in the country's past 2: I used to go to school in Prauge and it was like 200 feet from the air-raid-siren tower. every week they would test it and it scared the living crap out of me (I was 6 at the time) they would also test the broadcast system but only while I was at school, so one day I was sick at home and started crying when I heard it.

I really don't know what's sadder, the alarms for horrific natural disasters or the alarms about war. Both are so chilling, I pray for anyone effected by either, so very scary.

I was woken up by an earthquake in Mexico one night and didn't know what was happening, when the sirens started it was the most terrifying thing ever. Never saw my mother this scared, it's heartbreaking to know that people experience this type of distress and fear for their lifes on a regular basis

That Japanese one was really upsetting. The newscaster was getting noticeably more freaked out as he went on but still remaining calm, until the "tsunami warning" part
