Hello everyone! I want to give a massive thank you to my Patrons who have supported me a lot recently. It's been difficult to create. :) For those curious: a cave entrance can be at the bottom of a mountain/hillside. It will be called a 'resurgence', where the water exits the cave. It will likely have a sink (name for where the water gets in) entrance at the top of the mountain :) Cavers: yes, yes, there is flat walking passage that exists... but I just wish there was more! Excellent video !! But for someone with social anxiety to think, "I know I'll join the caving club", I'm a bit worried that your next Asking Strangers video will be "What does Bakhmut think of itself" with you right on the front line and projectiles flying past as clearly you don't mind throwing yourself in at the deep end lol !! But seriously, the journeys inside people's minds and experiences are every bit as fascinating and beautiful as any landscape above or indeed below ground.

So refreshingly honest : ) It takes a lot of strength to not only admit to your anxieties publicly but also detail your journey, you should be so proud of this video! I know it's not the same, but follows the same reasoning: As someone who skydives, I totally get what you mean, it's knowing you are in control of your own life. The sensible decisions you make to ensure you are as safe as possible leak out from your hobby and into everyday life, which gives a self-belief and confidence that is hard to replicate otherwise! I hope you’re soon back in a headspace where you are able to make more videos soon : )

Really enjoyed - I'm trying to face my social anxiety by volunteering at a theatre. A little less badass, but I interview with them tomorrow. It must be amazing to have such a rare skill.

Great storytelling! I enjoyed the video a lot. All parts of it. However I did not accept the possibility of biting more dust than usual in a cave. I think I have a good sense dangers and do proper risk mitigation. I hope if I pass away early by accident it will be some random stupid everyday life thing.

Love this "stream of consciousness" approach to the subject; your enthusiasm really shines through. Some excellent footage from deep inside places I'm probably never going to get to, as well. Good one 🙂

Elise, random question: have you ever thought about cave diving? Sorry if this has been asked before.

This was amazing and I got to know a lot about caves. How hard is caving for a beginner? My advantages: I can bear walking in water and mud for hours. Disadvantage: I might get scared in the dark and just to see things with a headlight. You are really brave that you visit those caves.

What do you recommend are the best websites and methods of getting into caving? I've always wanted to but never know where to start or how to find the perfect caves for filming (Student Filmmaker Here)? Thanks so much :)

Hi Elise, loved this video. You have a real art in story telling and it takes us into your passion for caving. Thank you for sharing.

With your recent focus on non caving videos I had forgotten somewhat how scary some of your caving videos are. As someone who has battled anxiety for my entire life it is worth getting assistance with it. I look back on all the things I have missed out on over the decades and I regret them.

I really liked the chapters "Why are caves scary" and "Caves shape character." It is fascinating and beautiful how cavers take on these challenges for the sake of exploring and existing in these wondrous sites. When watching your Deep Down Under series, I felt that.
