Thankyouthankyouthankyou.
I have always used crop and straighten to help me get more impact in (almost) all of my images. I figured the pros such as yourself didn't do this and I was 'cheating' to try and get similar results.
Now that I know professionals occasionally employ these tricks, I feel a LOT better about doing them too.
Keep up the amazing tutorials, David!

What is the biggest you'll ever what to print your personal images? Let's say you have the resolution to print a desired 3:2 image with dimensions of 24" x" 16" using standard print resolution of 300 DPI. This is 7200 x 4800 pixels (just under 35 MP), which will be fine for a likely more common sensor size of 36 MP. After cropping, how much are you willing to lose in resolution? Do you matte the frame at, say, 21" x 14" to keep 3:2, resize and accept a 5400 x 3600 (a smaller frame of 18" x 12") to keep the image at the edge of the frame, or perhaps use content-aware or generative fill to get the image back up to 24" z 16"? What print resolution is your minimum before the image starts to become pixelated?

Ha! I think my head is tilted because my photos always need 1-3° counterclockwise rotation to be level. Good to know it isn't just me!
