What gets me about IndyCar, as a fan of the sport for over 50 years, is that if a circle track guy like Kyle Larson, like Jeff Gordon, Ken Schrader, Tony Stewart, Kurt Busch, etc., before him, comes around to Indy as a young driver looking for a chance they get laughed out of the garage in favor of a fancy pants from Europe from an F1 feeder series, but then when they become NASCAR stars, the whole IndyCar world goes hysterical if they even hint at wanting to drive in the Indy 500. Kyle Larson or Ryan Blaney (whose father never got a chance at Indy despite being one of the best open wheel drivers of his generation) are worth more and bring more fans and eyes and attention to Indy than the whole rest of the field put together, but as young drivers the IndyCar powers wouldn't even give them the courtesy of politeness when turning them down. It's a travesty.

It would be pretty cool to see Kyle Larson not just be in the Indy 500, but maybe race in Indycar maybe part-time

I really wouldn't be surprised to see Larson up front and battling on race day and I've no doubt that he's probably one of the greatest talents to come along in a while. Regardless though, unless the other teams can figure out what Ganassi is doing at Indy, they'll all be running for second. Chip's cars are so much faster when it counts!

Kyle Larson .. race car driver. If something needs to adjust it will be him adjusting to a changing car and track, not him trying to readjust the car to make it feel like it did 10 laps ago. He is a DRIVER, he knows what feels good and he knows what feels bad and he makes the best of what he has at the time. I hope he does well, but I worry about drivers like him and JJ when they step out of what they have cut their teeth on and try Indy cars because if things do get unsettled, these cars can bite quick and hard. Be careful Kyle.
