Much more overwhelming in real life, Its still special for me after 35 years, and they over my house every night for months. The tourists here have emotional breakdowns the first time. The air feels electric, and the lights make a kind of "silent music"...at least thats how it feels when you are watching them. It's not unlike this music, just on a whole different level, totally mental and physical. Best place to start the journey is up north, Tromso is the only real city that far north, and the hub for explorers and scientists from all over the world.

Probably a good thing I don't live in Alaska. I'd never get any sleep at all because I'd be up all night watching these beautiful lights.

Ah the Aurora Borealis. At this time of the year, at this time of day, in this part of the country, localized within my own phone screen.

When I was on my trip to Iceland in late September of 2019, me and my friends really hit the peak, I would say. We were there for 10 days, and almost half of nights greeted us with these breathtaking lights. The second to last night was the most beautiful experience I've ever had under the night sky. Maybe it is due to my love to astronomy and everything space related...we camped in the middle of nowhere, close to a very friendly family with a campsite near their farm. No surrounding lights, just these beautiful colors dancing for long, long time. I stood there, then sat down and just started crying looking at the sky. Since then, I dream about returning to Iceland, just to experience everything once again. You have to see it at least once in your lifetime. Thank you for this video!

At this time of year? At this time of day? In this part of the country? Localized entirely within your kitchen?!

To think this is localized entirely in Skinner’s kitchen. It truly is a sight to behold.🥹

I stayed here for hours and see this beauty and read comments about people's feelings when they saw this video or about their stories and how they felt when they saw the aurorae with their eyes I relaxed a lot. And I had a feeling that I don't know what was the first time I felt. I really thank you all for all the comments I wrote. I hope you all were well. I really fell asleep watching the aurora. I read the comments and prepared myself one day that I would witness it. I don't know where and when, but I will, God willing, I will come here to tell you my story and my feeling when I watch the aurora. And we are in grace, I can’t appreciate it. I thank God for this beautiful gift.

I’m not a person that usually cries. Not for trying to look strong, it’s just that I normally don’t cry. But this. Oh god. I started crying over how beautiful this is.

my momma told me about how when she was a kid in yakutat, alaska, a small village. that she would be out on the boats in the the middle of the ocean and she would look up and see the lights. she said if you were to clap or hit the boat the lights would dance! for they’re very sensitive to sound when they’re so far away from everything. i have definitely seen the lights since i live in alaska but i dream to see them as prominent as this!

Crying my eyes out here😭😭. This brought back a most beautiful memory of watching the northern lights in Iceland with my husband. Nothing can prepare you for how beautiful they are. The colours vary soo much in person. I know people say it isn't the same to see something in videos vs irl, when it really is the same...but the northern lights are something incredibly special and worth seeing with your own eyes
