People have told me goodwill have raised their prices. My town has about 25,000 people they are charging big city prices. A lot of people stopped buying there.

I work for Dollar General in a distribution center. Things have slowed down in both inbound deliveries and outbound volume to stores, but when you go into stores in our area they have product sitting in the aisles waiting to be put out. I think our slow down is due to the company cutting the hours of hourly employees. Our local goodwill stores will have items from several big box stores with the price tag on the item and put a higher price on said item then when it was in the store it originally came from.

My favorite discount store was Value Village. I'm in Costa Rica now living here. I miss Value Village so much!

In the 1960s and 1970s my town still had a chain of 5-10-25 cent stores with the old neon signs that also doubled as a drug store. Sometime in the early 1980s they removed the old signs and was repurposed as just a drug store chain. I can imagine these discount stores being repurposed as the $10 Stores in the future, if there is a future.

Big Lots is closed in my area. (California) To many homeless people stealing products. I witnessed it first hand. The guy took things flashed a knife and walked out- no police called because they wont do anything. The fact he showed a knife didnt violate the law because he never directly threatened anyone. Such BS!

That's why everyone needs to start growing their own food and cut back on buying things that you could learn to make yourself. Some of those products we really don't need anyway.

Many of the edible items in some dollar stores stay on the shelves beyond their expiration dates.

I was reading in one town the city is shuddering the idea of new dollar stores being built. Due to being unkept & eyesores about a year after being built. With poor management that wont even keep up a neat parkinglot or cut grass
