This song has always meant a lot to me. Right after new moon came out, my father died of alcohol abuse. The last thing I remember of him is his viewing with this song playing. 12 years later and i still feel the same gut wrench I felt that day. RIP dad.🕊

Twilight will always have a special place in my heart for my aunt. She passed not to long before the saga came out, i remember we planned on going to see it, she was so excited to see it. I remember me and her would always get all happy talking about edward and how cute he was and all thay stuff, i just wish she could have seen them all before she passed, and hearing this song just kinda breaks my heart cause it sounds so sad yet good. I love her so much and i shall never forget her😭❤️❤️❤️R.I.P aunt renee, we shall soon talk again in heaven i love you so much....

I still don't understand why the soul-uplifting, trance-inducing effects of Indie music do not apply to all people. But then again, these underground tunes are more special because the few people who love them tend to be more deep and imaginative. Somehow, I feel really special to be a part of that crowd. Since I do not verbalize my feelings much, these tunes keep me pushing forward in life.

Just re-watched New Moon after about a decade and was shocked by how good the soundtrack is.
Even more shocked that none other than one of my absolute musical heroes Victoria Legrand from Beach House was featured by Grizzly Bear, another band I really like, on it.
This soundtrack is a timeless alt/indie goldmine. <3

Why is everyone writing it’s a depressing song? I find it actually to be healing, soothing and calming. Hope there is more music like this out there which I have not found yet.

The concoction of emotions this song triggers in me is so difficult to accurately describe. It’s relief, peace, depression, nostalgia, euphoria, loss, happiness rolled into one. I can’t seem to find one word for it. Leading up to the chorus it’s melancholic, but the chorus itself feels like breaking free of something & finally experiencing true peace. Almost like something has been really difficult, but it works out for the best in the end.
I often visualise being really happy & at peace and so relieved I got there. Or, achieving something & then reminiscing about how hard it was to achieve it. Or, even being reunited with someone you love. The feeling of being happy/sad at the same time; smiling & crying at the same time.
It almost feels like experiencing the end of an era… you’re moving on to bigger and better things, but you’re going to miss parts of the life you left behind.
It feels like so many things basically, sry for the essay
