The Sun is not going to explode like they implied in the beginning, it will expand into a red giant and cool into a white dwarf, eventually it will completely stop glowing and become a black dwarf but there hasn’t been enough time since the beginning of the universe for these to appear yet. Also, they are taking about the Carrington Event that happened in 1895, not 1985.

In 1985? Yes we'll son we used smoke signals, fire signals even marathon runners to communicate wayyyy back in1985... We didn't have these newfangled contraptions like today. We walked barefoot backwards in the snow just to go to the schoolhouse. Telegraph was just barely coming out if my recollection serves me proper haha it was 1885
