we are truly in the best era for learning music production 😭 it’s incredible that these artists are so keen to share the ‘guts’ of their art in this way instead of hiding it behind mystique and closed doors. Thank you jack and the whole tape notes crew 🎛️

Holy cats re: shout out to Longwave! I saw them at the Town Ballroom in Buffalo, NY in 2003 (egads) & after their set asked the singer, basically, "How do you make it?" and he said, in sum, "I don't really know." What a time!

This is great, but to be pedantic - these aren't stems. These are the multitrack files

It's strange and borderline offensive how - compared to people from other religious and ethnic backgrounds - a Jewish performer can release a song with a title like this one and receive no criticism/backlash from the same media, many of whom are considered and proclaim to be "progressive," who would go into fits if a Christian artist titled something similar regarding Mohammad/Islam or if a Muslim artist made such a title about Yahweh/Judaism etc. etc. I seems largely lost on most American/European diaspora Jews like Antonov how double standards like that are becoming increasingly apparent and grating to Gentiles. Not just the ones they can easily ridicule and dismiss as "far right neo-Nazi types" but the kinds of people who have long been their allies in 20th/early 21st century sociopolitical discourse. Especially in light of whats going on right now in the Gaza strip. With outlets like the ADL pushing hourly TV commercials about fighting the "spread" of "Jewish Hate" (which frankly seems to mostly be a spread of awareness of double standards and cultural hypocrisies) while Jewish artists, comedians etc. are constantly making insensitive, divisive, offensive remarks and "artistic" statements about other religions. While also simultaneously being - quite frankly - one of the most privileged, over represented and nepotistic groups in the world. Long having conveniently had the power to scare down such plain and non-inciting criticisms as "anti-semitism". Dismissing it as "tired old tropes" without any more explanation beyond that as to why the light of truth has not burned away such "tropes" in this post WWII world beyong "its just hate." Where is that same energy when its done the other way around?
