When he asked him "Was it as easy as it looked?", they had no idea just how difficult it really was for him. That part was so profound.

The line where he tells his son “don’t ever let anyone tell you that you can’t do something. Even me.” Is my favorite one. Nobody holds you back, even your own family.

“No sir, no sir, it wasn’t.” That right there always hits home run for me and brings a tear to my eyes, because of all what he went through. His boss might be talking about the training, Chris is talking about his life.

The part where the Boss give him his $5 back.. signifies that Life has finally decided to give him back, instead of just taking. short, Subtle but a strong scene. Love this movie.

The man literally cries, he knows this is him getting out of rock bottom officially now and forever. It’s a moment I’m working day in and day out for.

The way he walks out of that room with his head held high and proud. He earned that position through hard work, dedication, and determination.

Finally got my happy ending like in this movie: been at Rock bottom at a homeless shelter since the start of 2022, with no money, no hope. Went to several interviews with no luck, until the boss at Arby's saying I was hired. Hugging my fiance after the moment brought me to instant tears. What a powerful moment in my life. Update: I left Arby's in April of 2023, got a job at Culver's two days later, then at last got an apartment 2.5 months later, finally ending my homelessness after two years.)

The time he walks out of the building appreciating his own achievement, clapping and cheering alone in the street for his success is truly a touching moment. There was no one to tell how proud they are of your success but yourself. The moment you appreciate your accomplishments alone is the time you are happy the most.

What I love most about this film is the humility Chris showed. Never moped in the hard times, trying to get people to sympathize with him. He battled the demons, the hard times, the homelessness, and still held strong without anyone ever noticing. And was rewarded! Love, love, love this film.

Whew. That end scene with Chris in the crowd, trying to process his emotions. All of us want to be in that space, dont we?.

Smith excels in dramatic roles. He's good at punching aliens too, I suppose. But, he shines brightest when his character is imperfect.
