That is exactly why you do thorough research on your pet, even with something common like a dog, or at least on any new foods you decide to give your pet. You shouldn't assume that anything safe for us is safe for them. Though, a lot of foods we eat are not good for us either so I'm not sure why people ever think it's ok to just give them whatever human food you have on your plate.
