Margot Robbies role in this film as a major producer was heavily underplayed here. Her production company led this- and it's massive!

Illuminating interview, thank you! She is so unique and genuine. I love her and Noah Baumbach's work, and as a couple, they seem to really get each other.

she is a hero. not really because she is a feminist superstar or whatev, that's really not the point, but because she is making room for a whole generation of filmmakers just by being excellent and not sacrificing craft. it's just, really great popular film. endlessly inspiring

I love that they didnā€™t bring up her being a mother in this interview. Often interviews with men donā€™t discuss their children, but rarely does that happen when women are interviewed. How refreshing to just focus on her talent, vision and intelligence

this interview was awesome. So many phrases and explanations here are exactly how I explain the "Barbie" movie to people, and it's why it's a masterpiece.

Her ā€œFrances Haā€ is one of the finest depictions of female friendship and lovingly captures a time and a place and an age (Brooklyn , mid-hipster era Williamsburg). Tender, funny, awkward, and, ultimately, beautiful.

Greta Gerwig is literally living my dream life, lol. If it wasn't such a hard spot to get into, I would have tried. Film school is VERY competitive, and becoming a director is literally the hardest job to get. If it weren't for her getting into acting, who knows where she would have gone! She and Kate McKinnon being dorm-mates is the best thing I've ever heard, by the way. Totally makes sense.

She deserves the credit. "Barbie" is a landmark in American popular cinema, and I think we'll look back on it over the years as the beginning of an era where independent directors were either given and spun up, or made for themselves, meaningful popular art.

She is very smart. I hope more ladies keep taking over Hollywood because the system sucks. The movie was great, we all laughed and cried, the process of growing up without the pressures of the world being whoever you want to be, everyone can relate to that even if you didnā€™t play with dolls.

About a year ago, I never imagined myself being hyped for a Barbie movie! And I say it as a 30 year old dude who feels a need of razzle dazzle once in a while of the feminine touch. It was Margot Robbieā€™s first look of her in her car at the 2022 CinemaCon, streaming Lady Bird and the teaser last December that encouraged me to give this movie a chance! Especially with the craftsmanship and the hard work Greta put into the script. I expected more of a Barbie Ken love story (call me old fashioned if you like). But when the Kenā€™s take over, the plot finds its footing. I was ready for Iā€™m Just Ken but just not the context. I was initially excited for Ryan Gosling as Ken more than Margot Robbie as Barbie. But I came out a fan of both. And the opening weekend audience at my screening was the most enthusiastic Iā€™ve been in since Avengers Endgame! I sure hope Margot, Ryan and America get award nominations this upcoming winter! Iā€™m 30, young & single and Ken-enough.

How ironic that one of Mattelā€™s concerns was the executive getting shot, yet after watching it 3 times already I never noticed it šŸ˜‚

Greta first got my attention in the Ben Stiller/Noah Baumbach movie Greenberg. She sang in a scene and I found her phenomenal. Have followed her career since and am so proud of her.

I really really liked the Barbie movie. I never got the idea that it was "bashing" men. In fact IMO I thought the ending where the Barbies didn't really incorporated the Kens into government, was actually a bit of a dig at women. A fun and family friendly movie for a change! Loved it.

her movies make me FEEL and EMOTE and BREATH and LAUGH and CRY and LIVE. Greta is a treasure- and you can tell by her comments & demeanor she didn't come from some hugely privileged, transplant-into-the-industry background and it shows: her stuff has so much character and depth & TALENT & SKILL
