dark tinashe = best tinashe. it's that contrast between her sugary sweet vocals and the gloomy unsettling track. sugary vocals + sugary pop, it doesn't make you stop and listen. but sugary vocals + moody beat, lyrics, and visuals? it's genius. she knows its genius too. i wish female artists were given more room to be experimental like this. kendrick can do anything on a record and sell it. tyler the creator and death grips could sell you a record full of static and noise if they wanted. that's great they get to push the envelope. but the second female artists step outside the box, they lose money. who's fault is that? it's not her fault for being a great artist. it's the industries fault and our fault for not recognizing.
