My son, Diego, was a big fan of your group. Y’all had a concert in Houston back in September 2022. His 18th birthday was September 7, 2022 and he asked if he could go to y’all concert with some friends. His younger brother, Fernando, was like his shadow, so I didn’t have enough money to buy two concert tickets for them and I didn’t feel comfortable sending the both of them to Houston from Victoria with friends for a concert, so they didn’t get to go. Both boys were in band and it was Diego’s senior year, so I already had a lot of expenses that year. Instead, my husband and I paid for Diego’s first tattoo shortly after his birthday. He got his first vehicle in October with his settlement from a car accident he was in with his dad in 2012. Less than a month later, he was in a single vehicle accident and flipped his Toyota Sequoia end over end and didn’t make it. I was on the way to the boys’ Band Booster meeting when I drove up on the accident that had just happened about 10-15 minutes before. Diego was exactly 18year and 2 months old. The only regret I have is not letting him go to your concert. I have no other regrets. I blessed him that morning and told him I love him after giving him a kiss before he left like I did every morning. I blessed him one final time as the van drove by with him inside that night. The last time I saw him was that morning. I couldn’t see him at the church for his rosary or his funeral. My last memory of him had to be when he was still alive, my handsome boy.
