Really a good video of well trained and taken care of pigeons. Again, I enjoyed it so much. I never could whistle very well, so I used to call to my birds to come down. "hey baaaby", hey baaaby. They heard that call from me while they were still in the egg and everyday of their lives. When it was time for them to come down and in, I would give the call and just as your birds do, they dropped out of the sky like crazy and rushed in. Then a friend of mine said, "that is pretty good, but can you get them to march into the carrying crate on their own? Wow, never had heard of that. He taught me how to accomplish it. After that, anytime I needed them to go into the crate, I would set it on the floor and give the "go into the crate" call and just like that they walked right in. A good friend told me that in competition, my birds were not competing against the other guys birds; I was competing against the other guys. I had to 'get into their heads' so they would alter their training routines & etc. On the day we took our birds to the club to log them in for the races, I would give a good cleaning to the beak and feet and claws. Then I would put a very light coating of Petrolatum on the beak and feet. They just looked brand new! Also I fed them a feeding of very small high fat seeds. You would not feel them in the crop. Everybody began to believe I was sending my birds to the race on an empty stomach. Sometimes someone would ask me how I prepared my birds for a race. Since I was a radical and focusing on messing with their heads, I told them the truth! Of course they thought I was not telling the truth. HaHa. They just couldn't figure out how I kept winning and placing high on the results sheet. Oh, I miss my pigeons.

This video shows a bit of discipline and how I like the pigeons to respond to my call to the loft. It is for their own good in many ways. 00:04 - Come on people! December has just started. Ahh. I hate fireworks and all the ** that terrorize wildlife and our animals. 00:55 - The one hour of freedom is over. Time to get in the loft. No complaints allowed. 01:38 - The most dangerous moment. This is when the hawks sometimes ambush them right there at the loft entrance. 06:00 - Claiming the perches. Alpha birds at the top.
