MILK OF THE SIREN is the sixteenth and final song on Melanie's new album called "PORTALS (deluxe) and it was officially released on April 5th 2023. The song appears to be a call to arms for women to rise up and take control of their lives and destinies, and not to feel guilty or ashamed for doing so. It makes metaphors of women of the past having to remember they do not need to worry about which abusive sailor they drown, sending an overall message that encourages self defense. The lyrics also reference discriminatory history, such as the burning of accused women at stakes, or the colonization of innocents.
