Melbourne ā€“ this much-loved Aussie city has long taken residency atop the ā€˜worldā€™s most livable citiesā€™ list. Follow our journey through the maze of laneways and see why for yourself.

When ready, browse vacation packages to Melbourne: www.expedia.com/Melbourne.d178283.Destination-Travā€¦

The scent of roasting coffee beans wafts through the air in #Melbourne. This city is serious about its coffee, and if youā€™re game, you can base an entire Melbourne #visit around sampling the offerings from local cafĆ©s.

Want more than a caffeine buzz from your Melbourne #vacation? Youā€™re in luck. Melbourne sits on the banks of the Yarra River, and youā€™ve got your pick of cathedrals, parks, and giant buildings to explore, as well as an extensive streetcar network to help you get from one place to the next.

Melbourneā€™s locals love art, and the inner-city laneways are jammed with street artists painting over the external walls of buildings. Donā€™t worry; these artists have a permit and are sanctioned by the city. A visit to Luna Parkā„¢ is also a must, when staying in Melbourne. Established in 1912, the theme park features one of the worldā€™s oldest roller coasters and a number of additional vintage rides.

For now, we hope you enjoy watching this #travel #guide as much as we enjoyed making it.

Born in Melbourne to Slovene and Dutch immigrants, lived here for 29 years (all my life). I love Melbourne and the sacrifices my older family made to get me here.

Lived in Melbourne for 8 months and loved every minute of it. Surprise there's no mention of the sports here. MCG is an awesome stadium and I saw countless Big Bash games there. Melbourne Park is class too if you're a tennis fan!

I came here as an international student. I thought I'll go back home after 4 years of study, but here I am on lockdown in North Melbourne enjoying the sun with my partner. This city opened my mind and made appreciate what is the best in life have to offer. No Australian city is better than Melbourne.

Tips if you want to go to Melbourne: 1- GET A MYKI! The ticket checkers ('Authorised officers') kick you off the tram/train/bus if you don't have one. 2- Don't stand in the middle of a fast-moving train station or street. People will most likely get really annoyed and push you out of their way. 3- Go shopping around the Collin's street area. You WILL NOT regret it. 4- Get a coffee. Just do it. 5- Don't forget to check it out at night 6- The horse rides aren't that good.

I have lived in Melbourne for 13 years and the city is very nice. In the cbd there are loads of things you can do. Shopping and eating are the main things. Most say that Melbourne is the fashion, sport, art and multicultural capital of Australia. The richer suburbs like toorak, Kew, hawthorn and many others are really nice if you can afford houses there. The architecture is very old but the combination between old and modern is very passing to the eyes. Most of melbournes 's population is situated on the east, but on the west there are some small communities but the lifestyle isn't very good. But on the east all the nice suburbs like mount Waverley, glen Waverley, Burwood and all the rest are more average to high income people. More outwards there isn't much. But if you go south east from the cbd you'll find some great beaches in the Mornington peninsula like the beaches in rosebud or like Sorrento. On the other side of the bay there are also some really great beaches like in Torquay

Born and raised here. Been around the world. There's a reason this is one of the most expensive places in the world. It has everything and has the best quality. Houses, services, people, work-life balance. For a vacation in Australia I would spend as much time as I can in Melbourne. There is something new around every corner
